Geeking: Neato Keen Plug-in
Anyone who has Office and uses GoogleDocs as either their primary or backup storage location should at least try this plug-in. Why?

1. It's free.

2. It simplifies the sync between your MS Office Docs and Google Docs.

3. It's free.

I'll have more feedback once I see how it works offline, but when online I can open items in my Google Docs store directly from Microsoft Word in addition to setting permissions as if I were logged directly into GDocs. Yes, those dolphin noises you heard off in the distance a couple hours ago can totally be traced back to yours truly.

Anyway, give it a shot. It may make your life easier.

OffiSync

ETA: Link to original article that offers two other sync platforms that might be worth trying. Syncplicity definitely looks interesting. I haven't delved into the security aspect of it yet, but I intend to.

where your mind is the scene of the crime
Most of last night and this early evening were eaten up by this:

Title: Presque Vu
Author: Rageprufrock
Rating: Mature
Summary: Or, "on the tip of the tongue." Arthur meets Mal first. He inherits Dom, after. Everything else is on him.
Wordcount: 70K

I don't even know where to begin, or how to properly frame my own experience with it. I can only say that I loved it and that you should read it. Perfectly satisfying.

Now to get cracking on the particulars for this year's [livejournal.com profile] deancas_xmas challenge. I want to announce tomorrow and I haven't revised any of the rules. I fail at responsibility. Maybe I shall go read Hyperbole and a Half to make myself feel better. Only that's another distraction.

CWRPS Recs
Part of the reason I don't rec more often is that I don't read all that much (too many projects, gah!), but in the past twenty-four hours I've read both of the fictions below and they have restored my violent cheerfulness.

Title: In Becoming Who We Are
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elizah_jane
Pairing: Jensen/JDM, Jared/Jensen
Rating: NC-17
Word count: ~82,700

Summary: Fresh out of school with a degree from the University of Washington, Jensen meets and falls for Jeff Morgan. He may not know what he wants to do with his life, but for the first time since leaving Texas, he feels like things are coming together. Jeff seems like the perfect guy, right up until it all falls apart, and Jensen is left wondering where he went wrong.

A couple failed relationships and a few years later, Jensen's decided that one-night stands are preferable to dates. He's got his friends and his roommate, Sophia, for everything non-sex related, after all. Until Sophia decides to move in with her boyfriend and Jensen's stuck trying to find a new roommate. At Sophia's insistence, Jensen meets Jared Padalecki and the two become fast friends. Only, the more they get to know each other, the more obvious it is that there's something there. But Jensen is unwilling to risk losing Jared's friendship for the possibility of more. Unfortunately, if he doesn't get things figured out, he might lose Jared anyway.

My Notes: I can't say enough about this piece. I love the characterization, the language, the pacing. The primaries are clearly defined and fleshed out, as are the important secondaries. There is an OC I positively adore and want to keep forever, but I refuse to say which one. Needless to say, it sucked me down the wormhole last night when I was supposed to be working on my [livejournal.com profile] deancasbigbang and left me thoroughly satisfied in my act of procrastination. *happy sighs*

Title: Such a Silly Love Song
Author: [livejournal.com profile] devilyouwere
Characters/Pairings: Rob/Misha
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~4,100

Summary: Misha is not surprising to Rob. He might be a little alarming, though.

My Notes: I may be slightly biased because this was written for me, but that doesn't change the fact that it's so quietly pretty, almost like you're watching events unfold through a filter. I don't know how to put it in words. I LOVE this Misha and Rob's treatment of his eccentricity. ♥ it all over.
